BIO OF KALYNN
Throughout high school I was starting varsity pitcher for our softball team and played on a traveling soccer league. It was fun during school but afterwards that was it. I hadn't found what I was truly passionate about until I was introduced to CrossFit. My whole family did it and one day I decided to take my first 1 on 1. Wow, I got my butt kicked! After that first session I knew that this is what I wanted to do and have been going strong for 2 years now! I couldn't have gotten where I am today without my family being there for me every step of the way. Their support is what made this possible in the first place. Thanks mom and dad!

Q & A WITH KALYNN

What inspires you to get up and perform every day?
To be better than yesterday. I always set a goal when I leave the gym and do whatever it takes the next day to make that goal happen.


What should every man or woman know how to do?
Every woman should know how to cook and clean, yes clean dishes, but more importantly know how to clean heavy a** weights ;)


How do you prepare mentally for a particularly tough event?
I try not to think about it. I don't let the nerves get to me. I always think this is for fun, regardless of the outcome it will be a learning experience for me.
Tell us about a time you were defeated, how did you get back up?

Last year during the CrossFit open, the HSPU and power clean workout. I could not do a HSPU the way the wanted it for the judging standard, frustrating because I'm normally decent at those. I had a breakdown in the middle of the workout and walked outside. I used that anger in a positive way when I went to redo the workout, I ended up beating my score by 20 reps!


What's your favorite meal?
My favorite meal by far is anything that involves sushi! I could eat sushi everyday!
